I get tired *so* quickly. I did, like, the face of a drawing of mine and now I'm stuffed. I can't even bear LOOKING at the thing again. It probably doesn't help that I'm entirely unhappy with it.







The problem with Rannon is that I want him to be absolutely GORGEOUS. Just - painfully beautiful. He's one of the fey and he puts on a glamour when he's amongst humans (that has the unexpected physical oddity often present when the Fey take on human form - in his case, the pointy ears). So he's supposed to be just - guh. Heart-stoppingly hot. I'd never drawn him quite like this before, with his lips so cupid-bowed, or his eyes that size.

Thing is, I don't want Rannon to come off as gay. Or straight, really. There should be an utter void of sexuality there, but in that vacuum, combined with his beauty, creates this explosion of attraction. Or am I not making any sense?

Anyhoo, this is not the finished product. I haven't started on the eyes, nor have I fucked with the line layers to make it sit better with the colouring in some spots.

You know, I think if it was me (and I know its not, so you can ignore what I say) I'd consider actually drawing him in a different, probably more abstract, style to the more human characters, to indicate that its a glamour not a physical body.

That said, I understand the frustration of not getting the exact effect you are after, but its still a really good drawing!

The only thing I noticed is that may be his eyes are not in the same level or something. One of them seems closer to the nose than the other one, which doesn't bother me at all... he is still hot xD
