I'm *trying* to draw David Tennant. I really, really am. It's just fucking SO HARD. I'm so frustrated I could cry!! No matter how I sketch it, I always fuck up.

I used to be so fearless. Just drop down the lines and they'd be where I wanted them to be. I didn't care if I fucked up and it just looked so good. Now? Bah. I'm just so bad. So weak, so pissy in the line and inaccurate in the shadowing. I'm not capturing anything of the person, it's all off. I'm just not good enough. I've not practiced enough lately, not enough by half! Grrr!

If you don't move it, you totally lose it. And I've totally lost it. I'm going to keep trying but it's going to look like shit, I think. *sigh*

Hmm I'm not an artist but I noticed when I had to draw for school that whenever I put myself under pressure the result wasn't that great at all. Or I just couldn't get it done because I tried my hardest to do it like my teacher wanted it to be done.
I had to copy Frank Marc's "The Blue Rider" with oel crayon but with a fence and that really didn't work for me. After a half hour trying I started all new and just did it my way, without a fence. It took me perhgaps a hour the work was done and I got my mark.

My point would be don't be too hard on yourself. You got talent and can draw but that doesn't mean you can't have a bad day too. There is a time when it is the easiest thing to get something on the paper but at others it can be the hardest.

*hugs*

I actually ended up crying. So lame! I'm not licked, though. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

You really have talent, Nancy, don't be so hard with yourself.
I agree with Diana, probably you are pressing to much yourself. Relax, and you'll get a better result.

If you haven't drawn in a while it's not going to come easily.
Try different attempts and if it doesn't work, sometimes you have to fuck up before you can get back on the right track.

I've had about four attempts. I'm not giving up, though.
