Okay girls (and boys who like to prettify themselves too). I have ten AWESOME nail polish shades here that I just have to share because they're THAT fabulous. No, really. I'm going to betray my intelligent, thoughtful, cultured and deep side for this post and go totally teen on you. (Though - why the fuck do the teens get to have all the fun?! Grown women like to play with nail polish too!).
So, in no particular order, here are ten shades that I absolutely ADORE. The polish is of really great quality too. Funnily enough, they're from two brands only.
First I'll show you my favourite Revlon shades:
PLUM ATTRACTION

I saw this colour and I HAD to have it. It dries fast, goes on smoothly and lasts a few days without chipping. It's a good shade. Shimmery enough so it doesn't make you seem like you're too depressed, but deep enough so it gives you an edge. Looks awesome on short nails!
TIDAL WAVE

I've had this one for some years now, as you can witness by the wear on the bottle. The polish has not clumped or dried out. It STILL goes on smoothly and the colour is dazzling. I wear this when I'm in my Egyptian moods. Or my mermaidy moods! Like all Revlon polishes - quick drying, long lasting.
LIMITED EDITION: COPPER GLEAM

Like the name says - very gleamy! A VERY bold metallic colour, a part of a limited edition range that Revlon released just in the last year. Its intensity shocked me, I didn't know they could make nail polish THAT metallic. Better than the 'metallic' range Revlon (or was it Loreal?) tried to come out with before that I refused to buy because it was just pearly crap.
LIMITED EDITION: BERRY JEWELED

Another shockingly glittery, metallic polish. I HAD to have this, and there was a sale so I bought it along with the bronze. Dark, but with bold pink sparkles through it. Very dramatic, very feminite but bold. Really gives you a futuristic, funky touch.
SOLAR

I really love this one. Low key, so you can wear it to work or to somewhere important, but really special, different from other polishes. It's a mauvey purple (one of my favourite colours) but it has gold shimmers in it. Another dimension to your predictable gold. (Though I would LOVE a gold that was like the bronze above). Very summery and Egyptian. Perfect for the beach!
OZOTICS:
Now, the problem with showing you these Ozotics shades is that they DON'T come up properly in scans or photos. You're missing the fact that they're INTENSELY HOLOGRAPHIC. They shimmer a thousand shades when looking at them. Rainbows shimmer through the light bits and in some shades, such as the dark blue one - THEY ACTUALLY CHANGE COLOUR DEPENDING ON WHAT ANGLE YOU LOOK AT THEM! Like that funky car paint. Fer reals. They're kinda like the zenothingo snake. Better to see them in real life.

That image shows very well the multi-colour shimmer in the polishes. Another problem? I've lost the name of most of these colours. So I'm giving them descriptive names. I remember the name of only TWO colours.
Holo-mauve-pink: (not official name)

It's a deliciously holographic mauve-y pink colour. A deep holographic shimmer.
Holo Silver (not official name)

Same, only in silver.
JIVE (official name)

Shimmery Light Blue (not official name)

Just like the light pinky mauve one, except in blue. VERY nice!
TWIGHLIGHT

I love this one. Like the purple Revlon colour, this one is sort of edgy but with an added dimension of colour shifting (this one is the colour-shifting one i told you about). The shade SANDS in this range ALSO colour changes by angle. I have that somewhere in my room - don't ask me where. In my piles of make-up and crap somewhere. But it goes from green to yellow to orange in burnt shades rather than blue to purple to burgundy like this one.

I put this in. Sorry it's so huge but it gives you a good idea of how the colours look in real life. Very spectacular!
And that's enough girly splooging from me! You are now all up to date on what my favourite nail colours are! :D

Date: 2006-08-14 12:17 pm (UTC)I saw them in chemists years ago and fell in love then they disappeared.
How much are they these days. Still $12 a bottle? I try not to spend over $3 a bottle on nail polish, but they may be worth it. Do they chip off quickly or last pretty well?
