So, I'm finally, after all this time, watching Brokeback Mountain. Never got round to seeing it in the cinemas, never got round to renting it until now.

I don't think I'm supposed to be laughing at the first sex scene. I was giggling madly. That surely was sudden, but I must remember that these are two men getting involved here. I seriously doubt they have the same touchy progress as happens when women are involved.

We are needless complicated creatures, don't you know?

And I *was* touched by it, a lot, but... Hmm. How do I put this?

It's like trying to tell the Holocaust story to someone who's relative was in the middle of that. Yeah, of course it's touching, but it's not new to them, you know?

Being bi, having a gay best friend and *living* the oppression, the fear that these two go through - I kinda feel more understanding and annoyed than anything (cause in thirty years, things haven't changed TOO much, other than being gay is kinda hip on TV).

I mean, I went out on Pride Parade night with my best mate Tom once, and I saw how he moved and talked and behaved on the streets. He was so - free and NOT afraid. It was such a stark contrast to him flinching every time his friend who ran karaoke made a loud gay joke about him over the mic, cause I *knew* he was terrified some of the tough looking dudes at the bar might take him out the back and pound him.

How scared WE were when we had to navigate the streets of Northbridge to get to the safer areas - the gay areas - while going to our favourite clubs.

So, yeah. It touched me, I guess. But I know the story all too well. :T

I felt terribly sorry for the wife character, and squeezing out babies and such. But I think you're supposed to - that's the EMO of it all. Suppression = everyone suffers.

That first love scene kinda frightened me, so yes - I did laugh too. Their sex was never *guh*, but was it supposed to be? I think it would mess with the mood of the film.

You know, no one in RL (except arianita, who I knew from LJ) knows I'm bi. And sometimes I do want my two best friends to know it. But I'm a chicken. Everytime that kind of subjet pops, I test them, I try to know what they really think. Specially Romina. And today she told me that she found out that her best friend in college is gay (gosh, a really HOT guy, he is model). She was kind of shocked, but it's not the first time she finds one of her friends is gay, and I was like 'LOL so what?'. She is ok watching people of the same sex kissing as a joke, but doesn't feel good if it's serious... So it confuses me a litle, because she is not as open minded as I thought she was. And today at the desing congress, a girl was telling a story, and she said that she likes too, Romina acted normal, I mean, it's not big deal, but it's not the same when it's someone you know very close. So I'm not sure yet to tell her, but I know she will get kind of pissed off if she knows that I hide it from her for such a long time hehe And I'm one of the group that almost never tells what is going on lol
