Wow. I'm actually pleasently surprised that the Johnny Depp 'bot looks like it blends in so well. Damn you Disney, for proving me wrong yet again!

I really questioned Pirates of the Caribbean when it was first announced, mostly because... a trio of films based on theme park attractions? Doesn't that just sound like a cheap cash-in? Figures that the other two, The Country Bears and The Haunted Mansion sucked ass, but that's because Pirates of the Caribbean drained all the awesome out of the project. :D

Mind you, I had the same reaction to the original Kingdom Hearts game, and that proved to be a pretty cool canon crossover. Have you seen Kingdom Hearts II yet? There's a section of the game based on the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. IIRC, you even get to have Jack Sparrow on your team.

No, actually Disney closed down the ride to take out the women who were being chased around by pirates (among other things) and 'tame it up'. No wenchin' allowed :-P

Okay, that was a bit... spooky. Especially the way the animatronic seemed to keep looking at Depp. If it happened to me, I'd probably freak.

'Fraid it's not Depp doing to voice for KH2. I've heard they tried to get the main cast to do the game, but the always vague "scheduling difficulties" was cited. It probably is the real reason, just an unsatisfying one. ;-)

And, yes, the Kingdom Hearts games, especially the second, kick serious ass. Excellently made. In Port Royal in particular, it's amazing the way that the pirates so seamlessly switch from flesh to skeleton while you fight them.

Okay, yes, Keira's a bit thin. And, really, I don't usually go for ladies that thin. But you can tell it's not because she's starving herself or anything, it's just her body type. And she's really a fine actress. And, when I see her I just think, well, "She's a bit of looker." I think it's mostly in the way she presents herself.
