ROFLMAO! Your dad and my dad would get along very well. He's got a very off-kilter sense of humor, too. Wonder if it's because he's German too (born in the States, though. My grandparents emigrated here in 1920 to Wisconsin from Hamburg).
Yeah, he said that his parents had a very off-the-wall sense of humor. My uncles Gerhard & Rudi have it - and I seem to have inherited the wacky humor gene as well. Debbie's got it but it's not quite so off the wall as mine is. Mom's sense of humor is more observational, but she's English/French Canadian mix.
We like to call Dad "Cheesehead" every so often and he just raspberries us, LOL - and yeah, he did grow up on a dairy farm, hee. He's lived in Massachusetts for so long though (over 47 years now - ever since he got stationed at the now defunct Ft. Devens in Ayer, MA and he met my mom) that he's got this weird Massachusetts/Midwestern hybrid accent.
