Hey. I'm having issues with my inbox. Every time it tries to build a summary file for the inbox, it shits itself. Then we can't download mail. We get the following error:

"This folder is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages."

Now, this 'processing' will not end. The thing is just fucked. Scotty somehow fixed it but he doesn't know how, but that was weeks ago and it's come back.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I know everyone hates Netscape but I have all my mail setups there and I don't want to have to learn how to use a new programme. I'm quite upset about it all.

Bwah.

ETA The problem has cropped up on Thunderbird too!

Help!!!

I can't access my mail!!

Firefox and its e-mail client Thunderbird can automatically import your Netscape browser and e-mail settings (I switched from using Netscape 6 to Firefox so I know). I'm just sayin'.

Your files are locked by a foreign process. This can be due to many things... Do you have an antivirus? I used to get this error because Norton would scan the Netscape mail files, find viruses and quarantine them, which would trigger the "processing" message. In this case, the solution is to use the antivirus' "ignore" option so it will never scan your mail files.

Anyway, chances are this error might correct itself by just rebootin your computer - just backup your mail files, just in case.

I keep rebooting my computer and it doesn't work. We do have norton antivirus. I'd love to stop it from scanning mail files but a) I don't know how to get it to do that and b) Mum set it up like that and she might get pissy with me.

Grrrr. I'm going to blow off some steam by drawing some more Squid.
