I mean, you guys probably won't think it much. But I bought myself a new bit of jewelry for my belly-button piercing... only it had sealed over! A thin film of skin had grown across it, about half a millimetres worth. Not enough to bleed profusely, but enough so that I couldn't just poke the jewelry through without it hurting like the fuck.

So I got a baby nappy pin and some weak disinfectant, and I gently, slowly, forced the needle through, then slowly stretched the wound. Then I put the jewelry through and put the beads on the end of it.

I am SO TOUGH! Cause it was piercing flesh and with the pain and needles and shit!!! *dances* Okay, so I'm lame, but I don't care, cause I'm an affirmed WIMP and I did something totally gross and self-mutilatey with jewelry. Not that I think self-mutilation is cool. I just think the fact that I am, once again, pierced in the belly is cool.

That's hardcore, girly! I tried doing that with my nose piercing once...I got a cold and it grew over. Hurt like a mofo, and I had to go get it re-done. So good for you!

Yikes! You're braver than me. I debated getting a belly button ring for the longest time, and was quite sure I was going to. And then, one day out of the blue, I all of a sudden changed my mind and said "No, I'm getting a tongue ring". And I did. My boyfriend (now my hubby) went with me and held my hand and filmed it (!) but I can't bear to watch the video now, lol. That was nearly three years ago and I'm still loving my tongue ring. It comes in very handy for distracting whiny toddlers.
