Well - it's the last day of the year.
Dec. 31st, 2004 11:36 amI can't help but look back on the year I've had, and, well - it's not been a wonderful one. There've been wonderful moments in it, which I'll list below in a tick, but on the whole, it's been a year of healing for me. I emerge from it battered, healed, and a helluva lot wiser. And rejuvinated. I am once more the bold, excitable, optimistic woman I used to be.
Though, it's going to be 2005 in like, twelve or so hours. I really do feel like I've been mugged by Father Time and the bastard took my early twenties with him. Prick. Oh well. I have my health, my family, my cats - I'm happy, I really am.
What I did this year:
- Wrote some awesome songs.
- Did some beautiful pictures.
- Met some awesome people.
- Saw some excellent movies.
- Fell totally and utterly in love.
- Wrote some awesome stories.
- Got a really great haircut.
- Bought some very lovely clothes.
- Had really awesome work experience.
- Kissed a lot of wonderful people.
- Played with more people's pink bits in the span of twelve months than any other twelve months of my life.
- Did remarkably well in a test I'd thought I'd piss down my leg.
- Applied for TAFE College. Whether I get in is next year's story.
- Sang in front of a group of people and had the applause drown me. (Thank you, frequenters of Loop Nightclub (rip for now) ).
- Took too much drugs and promptly gave up said drugs because they're not fun for me.
- Drank far too much alcohol than is healthy.
- Had an entire year's worth of my mother's brilliant cooking.
- Actually learnt the meaning of that stupid adage "If you love someone, let them go."
- Made the most of my three beautiful children - er - cats. :)
The only thing I regret about this year was that I didn't manage to buy a new pair of comfortable and attractive shoes. I mean it. I want a pair of strappy leather sandals, NOT pointy with a back on it and no pointy heels. Is that too much to ask?! It's on my to-do list for next year. - Find good sandals.
Love you all, kisses to you all. Let's party! (and raise money for those lost).

Date: 2004-12-31 04:46 am (UTC)what were the shoes you wanted... I might see if there are any in melbourne when I am there in march. I know a place that makes shoes and are resonably priced, however they will take up to 4 weeks to complete and I only have 2 in melbourne. not good when they have to size you at the start and near the end

Date: 2004-12-31 06:04 am (UTC)its 1am here on new years eve so I stil have 24 hours of this year left, no idea how I am going to spend them, but thinking about it makes me want to not sleep and just go do some goofy shit, grab some friends and go wreak havok :D
alas I have no means of transportation and my friends live in the 4 corners of the country so I'll have to settle for drinking with my family and playing poker.
have a good new year and I hope that 2005 brings you better things
