It's funny, you know... A month ago I would have been fucking thrilled to be exchanging tweets with Keith Olbermann. I really did like the guy, and I wish so hard that he'd listen to what survivors and allies are trying to tell him in this whole #mooreandme saga.

He communicated with me this morning, rather annoyed at a tweet where I said that he should apologise for disseminating erroneous information about Assange's accusers on his show by not correcting Moore, and by letting Moore disseminate information about the accuser's identity. He asked me if I should be held responsible for the death threat tweet that he got (Someone in a fit of foolish pique told him to go kill himself, something Keith Olbermann has done to other people, interestingly enough). I said that everyone in the #mooreandme hashtag who were arguing for the safety of rape survivors, victims and accusers denounced the twitters and said that they went too far. Also, we weren't broadcasting that tweet on live television, without comment, to millions of people.

All we asked is that Keith Olbermann and Michael Moore admitted on air that:

- The information about the case they put forward was wrong
- That laughing that it amounted to a "broken condom" was wrong
- That exposing the women accusing Assange by revealing their real names was wrong.

And that they're sorry for those things. That's all we wanted. Tonight, Michael Moore said that taking rape seriously was important. Rachel Maddow (God bless her wonderful socks) managed to press him on that on her show. I can't thank her enough and I can't imagine how that might have been a worrying thing for her career. But she went there, she totally fucking went there on her show. She said what all of us have been trying to say for months, and have been yelled at for saying.

That we believe Wikileaks is very important, but not more important than the bodily autonomy and safety of rape survivors/victims. And that it's not more important than using the Rape Culture for your legal advantage. That there's room to believe in Wikileaks, to treat the rape accusers with respect, and to also acknowledge that yes, this whole thing stinks to high heaven.

I think it's been said, over and over, and better than I can manage, that we need MORE justice for rape victims in this world, not less. I honestly wish that all rape cases were treated with the gravity that the Assange Case is. I think I would feel a little safer in the world.

But I'm glad that there are so many people out there angry about this, angry about Rape Culture and are willing to fight to end it. It gives me hope.
