You know, I'd been avoiding Basco's Gluten-Free Fetuccini with Carbonara (and bacon bits) instant-meal pack. Usually I stick to their macaroni and cheese, but out of necessity (I ran out of mac-n-cheese) I had some of the carbonara.

Holy shit, it's totally not as bad as I thought it would be. I'm usually leery of fake bacon. But the flavour isn't bad at all. And I think they have real bits of dried bacon in it!! Yay bacon!

What I usually do with these pasta packs is add half a cup of parmesan before I cook it. It makes the sauce more robust and fruity, and less fake-cheese-tasting. When I say parmesan, I mean actual grated parmesan. Not that powdered crap in the tin. I will never use that again after having actual parmesan cheese.

So I'll have a viable alternative now when I've run out of mac-n-cheese, or Coles doesn't have the Basco mac-n-cheese.

Today I added the modelling paste layer to my Fourth Doctor painting. This takes longer than it sounds, because I'm laying down straight, fine lines with modelling paste and a palette knife. The paste has the consistency of toothpaste. Imagine trying to get a thin, fine line with toothpaste on a rough board, using a knife. That's somewhat what I'm going through, though palette knives are bendy and pliable and are easier to use than a regular table knife. But you get my dilemma. It took me all morning to complete all the required I finally got my Moleskine journal, but I don't know whether to take my time with the Moleskine and just use the other book as a first-run abridged version of the Mermaid Encyclopaedia. (A Guide to Mermaid Species).

I also helped Dad with building the upstairs room. Held up the plasterboard slats while he screwed them into place. Those fuckers are deceptively heavy and I am weak as shit. It's also very, very hot up there, so I was huffing, puffing and sore.

Now I'm in pain again, and I'm very weak cause I'm nauseous and don't really feel like eating anything that I've got in the house. Which, I must say, is not helpful. I hate my tempermental appetite, I really fucking do. I'm half tempted just to pop a bowl of popcorn and eat that, but that wouldn't be nutritious.

The worst thing, my main problem, is that food takes energy to prepare, and I'm so exhausted presently that all I want to do is take some painkillers and curl up in bed and sleep for hours. I can't do this, because this is not productive, and I have LOTS OF SHIT TO DO.

But I don't know how productive I can be if I collapse.

Ah, dear, a bitch's work is never done.

ETA: Coldplay is on the radio. Before the Doctor Who "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" special, it brought only pain and annoyance when their songs played. Now all I can think of is David Tennant grinning cheesily, playing it at people with utter glee and mischievousness, knowing they hate it. Which, if I have to be absolutely honest, isn't so bad. He is so utterly pretty when he grins.

I still hate Coldplay though. (Unoriginal jerks).
