Oh man, this one - this one has caused me some embarrassment, cause I cannot let it stand.
If someone says a grammatical mistake, particularly on the internet, I feel this horrible compulsion to correct them. It'll gnaw on me horribly, so much that I have to force myself to close the page or go do something else.
It doesn't count if they use netspeak, though. But if their words are beautifully written with that one glaring error? OMG. It's red-pen time.
Which, you know, you would think that would make me a good editor. But I'd be stressed out all the time cause I hate spotting these things. That, and I'm really quite crap at grammar cause I've never had any in-depth formal teaching. It's just what I've picked up out of books and online and while writing.
