Had a good night out!
Nov. 1st, 2009 03:10 amKendra's party was *awesome*, and I had a lovely time.
My wig turned out perfect, I couldn't be more happy with it. The dress wasn't as finished as I wanted, nor was the necklace, but I can finish them at a later date, and wear them to other dress-ups. I'm forever getting kitted up as an Egyptian. :D
I had a very authentic look, so I was pleased with it. It wasn't "Hollywood Egyptian", you know? It was, "I read a lot of books about this subject and followed the old art and notes about what women actually wore." As much as I could on my budget, anyway.
I talked to so many awesom people, too! It was a joy to catch up with Ju, and of course Kendra! And I loved meeting Pavla. I'm sure I've seen her about before but I never got to have a good chat with her, and I did tonight. I forget the names of some of the other people at the party, only because I am *horrid* with names, and I thought maybe I was a self-centred asshole all my life, until I found out I have dyscalculia, and apparently it's one of the things with that, that you're really shitty at remembering names. I remember faces though. I never forget a face.
Anyway, I felt like a royal queen tonight. And I really love the wig I made, it's awesome. I'll get done up once I finish my outfit properly and do a proper sitting and take photos. Promise!
Now I go to sleep with Rogue warming my face with her back as she sits on me once more. As a true Egyptian would sleep.
I read in a pamphlet about dust mite allergy that pets (cats) can make the allergy worse. I didn't even stop to think, "I'd rather have a runny nose than live without my kitties." I just squirted two shots of that shit up my nose. :-P
