Golden Girls fucking rocked.
May. 6th, 2009 03:03 amHey doods.
I've been watching a lot of Golden Girl on Youtube lately. Man, what a wickedly funny show! It was so empowering for women, too. You could be in your fifties and still sexy and vital. I like that, I doubt you could do a show like that these days. Plus Dorothy (Bea Arthur) had the BEST one-liners. Holy shit, she was awesome!
Do you have a favourite episode or Golden Girl moment? I'm really loving Bea's performances, though I love all of the ladies utterly.
One thing - it really makes me miss my Mum. It makes me feel better about loving my Mum and missing her so damned much, though. I mean, the character of Dorothy loves living with her mother, and she's in her fifties. And she's totally okay with that, it's not portrayed as being weird or lame or anything. It helps me feel good about staying with my folks and helping them out and enjoying their company. I guess, if you get along with your parents, and they make you happy - why not enjoy it while you can?
I just hope that one day I have a little one, and that we're as bonded as my Mum and I are.
