Oh! Oh the PAIN!
Aug. 17th, 2006 09:18 pmI like quoting that guy from Lost In Space.
Anyhoodles, I decided today that when the Bene Gesserit made The Box, they channelled all the period pain that ever was, every single ache and pain a woman suffers for being a woman and put it in a box. Hence why poor Paul Atreides found it so hard to deal with. In the movie (I'm not sure if it's in the book cause I can barely remember every word in the book) Helen Gaius Mothingy says "No girl-child ever put up with that much."
I think she was just trying to make him feel better. Cause feeling all that period pain in your hand would suck.
And that place where women can not go? It's not so much terrifying as impossible. It's an existence WITHOUT PAIN.
For some of us at least, anyway.
Mercyndol, Valerian, a bath with Lavender oil and ridiculous heats, pelvic rocking, plain pathetic whimpering - nothing is helping! I think, eventually, I'll just pass out. I'm looking forward to that.

Now onto something completely different.
Aug. 17th, 2006 09:22 pmI'm reading the new Neon Genesis Evangelion manga series "Angelic Days". It's making me a total Evangelion fangirl again. I know some people really hate that series, think it's wanky and pretentious. I loved how dark and fucked up it got, myself. Then again, I went to art school. I've seen videos of people maiming themselves and taking photos of it for 'art', of taking their own shit and smearing it on a canvas and selling it for millions of dollars. Seeing an animated cartoon boy jizz in his own hand over the unconscious body of his hot teen female friends is peanuts compared to some of the shit in the art world.
Point being - it never bothered me and I saw some pretty awesome themes in it. Plus there were some awesome fight scenes with the Eva and the Angels. Just fucking awesome.
Anyway, the comics are really awesome and I'm totally loving them. I actually want to DRAW fan art! But unfortunately I can't draw manga for the life of me. I did some Eva fan art once - but it was all the kids drawn as real people rather than anime type drawings. I didn't think people would be interested so I never scanned them in.
I *really* want to draw Asuka and Shinji hugging or something, looking happy. Cause those two go through so much shit, the poor buggers. Shinji is like the SUPER!EMO!ANIME!HARRY that never was. Fer reals.
