Today's love fest is for the amazing:

Burt Bacharach

Do you realise how many amazing songs he wrote? Here are a few that are not only great songs, but are staple parts of our collective culture as human beings!!

- Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
- What the World Needs Now (Is Love)
- I'll Never Fall In Love Again
- Alfie
- I Say a Little Prayer
- The Look of Love
- Always Something There to Remind Me
- I Just Don't KNow WHat To Do With Myself
- Don't Make Me Over
- What's New Pussycat?
- That's What Friends Are For

And those are only the ones that I can remember. *sighs* Burt Bacharach, I award you with two thumbs up, and if I had a dick, a standing erection. Instead, I call the rallying cry to women and gay men everywhere -- Give the man a head-job!!

Tis a tribute album with various (I think Aussie) bands performing his songs.

The really interesting thing about Bacharach is that for such a good songwriter and pianist, the guy can't (couldn't?) carry a tune in a bucket. I had the misfortune of hearing him try to sing some of his songs on TV years ago and it was PAINFUL. But hey, nobody said a composer has to be able to sing - or (in the case of Beethoven) even hear -- to be great:)
