OMG! Do not get me started on that perversion of Asimov's work. I am so pissed off about it. They totally ignore Asimov's three rules! BAAAAAH!!! *HULKSMASH*
I saw a "Making of ..." type thing for I, Robot, not that long ago... they were all saying that no, they didn't use any one story of Asimov's, yes they set it in his universe, yes they're big fans of his, yes they respect his work, and they're very excited...
And then I start seeing trailers that looks more like Terminator 4: Arnie Gets Cloned And Kills Some Humans. I'm so confused... could there be a hard-scifi answer behind all this cr*p that I've been seeing? Could Will Smith be playing a robophobic cop who misinterprets everything, only to be reasoned out of it by Susan Calvin? After all Marketing might have just put together a really misleading trailer... they're not that smart... after all, they gave away the biggest secret in Star Trek (for over a year they kept secret that they were going to blow up the original Enterprise, and then a week before it opens, they air tv commercials with the ship going boom and a voiceover "the last voyage of the Starship Enterprise"). Have to reserve judgement until it comes out. But this could make me very angry hey?
Actually it might be worth seeing it just to see the legendary battleaxe herself, Susan Calvin, no matter how bad the rest is they need to get her character right or I will fly to Hollywood myself and buy a sniper rifle........
