Hey all.
I just watched the movie 'Gandhi' with Ben Kingsley in the title role for what would be the fourth or fifth time, and it really inspired me. In the struggles we all have, day to day, his words are hope and truth.
So, in the spirit of active resistance, but non-violence, I make a pledge regarding an issue that means a lot to me. Feel free to follow me in this pledge.
I stand by the rights of all human beings, gay, straight, or somewhere in between.
To all those that stand against me - I am here. I will not change. My brothers and sisters in the gay community will not change. One day, we will die. And in our place will be more. We are here - we will not ever be gone.
We have families. We have brothers and sisters and children and wives and husbands. In the eyes of God, if we wish to be married - we shall be married. You few in charge, and you few who stand against us - you cannot change that. Whether you accept it or not, it is of no consequence. We shall go on living together, being in love, being husbands and husbands, wives and wives. You can state in a big leather book that man and wife are the only people that may be accepted as married - but you are wrong.
I stand for love. I stand for our freedom. I stand for our equality in a harsh and unyielding world.
We will be proud of who we are, always. Call us faggot, call us dyke, call us swingers, whores and degenerates, it changes nothing. God made us equal, God made us as He made you.
I do not wish to take away your freedom. I do not wish to change your life. I wish to live alongside you, without fear of being who God made me.
Okay, that's enough of me being serious for now. I'm off to do stuff. Love yas.
