Okay, I'm out of the loop on the HP fandom, or more accurately, recently and begrudgingly letting myself get back in...

so, I get from context that Pumpkin is a reference to Harry/Hermione shippers. Yes?

Erm -hmm. You know what? I'm not exactly to-the-letter sure. All I know is that there was a discussion about how some statistic or something said that teenaged boys most often taste like pumpkin pie (their mouths, that is). And so I think it was Cassandra Claire wrote a story where Harry and Hermione kiss in the Astronomy Tower, and he tasted like pumpkin pie or something. And a ship sailed. Someone else could probably explain it better than me.
