I'm trying out the mineral face clay that I got from Tina. It's a nice texture, we'll see how it goes when I wash it off. Should be interesting!

Watched World Idol. Hmmm...

- That little sixteen year old - she has a strong voice, too strong for the song she chose. But she has a whole stack of potential, and I think she's going to be something great one day.
- GO GUY! Wow, he really nailed that song. Whether he did good enough to win - who knows. But he made me proud, and that's great.
- Kelly - wow, she has a nice voice. Very strong, very good gospel. But there's a little something lacking, a little sensitivity there, that makes it tiring to hear. Aretha (who she seems to like to emulate) works with light and dark, soft and loud. Kelly tends to go loud and louder. Maybe with experience that'll improve.
- That UK Idol guy? What a weener. :-P
- The Polish judge was SO FUNNY!!! He cracked me up so bad! *giggles*

What is it with girls and putting lotions and potions on their face. I get by with soap and water, I don't see how girls can't do that too. Anywho yeah the little blonde girl was great! HUGE potential for the future when she calms down alot more but she's spunky as all hell! Did you see her tell off her country's judge?

Yeah she did!

And girls have to have smoother skin that guys do. Like guys are allowed to have loose pores and a slightly oily texture. We have to look absolutely flawless otherwise it's like, "Dude... do you roll your face in shit or something? Have a bath!"

But it's also just REALLY relaxing. I've gotten into the habit of lazing with Tina and doing a face mask once a week. It's really nice and it makes my skin so pretty! :) So yeah. More for my mind's benefit than my skins! :)

One thing about the girl though? She massacred that song!! I can SO sing it better :0

I can be queer as fuck to a certain degree but I don't think I can be so girly to the point of plastering my face with expensive dirt. I'll stick with my scalp massages when I have my haircut thanks.

I disagree ... she at least did it better than Kate Cebrano did it in the Aussie production of Jesus Christ Superstar all those years ago.

Dude - don't knock it until you try a heat-spa facial. If THAT doesn't relax you till your butt opens, nothing will.

And dude - she shat that song down her leg, just as badly as Kate did. If you want to hear that song done properly, you get the original motion picture of Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neely and Yvonne Elliman, and you listen to Elliman sing that. She falls down upon her knees and sings it as a prayer, every tenderness and every heartbreak brimming in each note. That song is a lament, a desperate yet plaintive cry for understanding to God above, and it is NOT to be shouted like that girl did. It's to be crooned and sung so gently, like a slow delicate kiss to one you love more than life itself.

But this is me the singer being picky. I rule with that song, and I've been doing it all my life, and as much as I like that girl, I hate what she did to my favourite song. :T

Oooh I got so uncool and heavy! LOL! Sorry!

Not a prob sweetie, obviously I'm not quite cultured enough (i.e. too male) to actually get the purpose of the song. To me singing is just singing and if I happen to feel or identify with the emotional thrust of the song then my performance will be all the better but I mostly like to sing "fluff" anyways. Fluff songs rock if you're just out for a good time I find.

By the way I have plans on turning up to your kareoke place on tuesday if you happen to be around. I missed out on kareoke last week and I NEED my fix.

On karaoke: I don't know if it'll be on, dude. They take a break during this time of the year.

As far as the song goes, it's a song that tells a story, so unlike every other song where you can take your own spin on it, this one is very specific. It's a musical tune - you have to get the message right in how you sing it.

Poor Mary Magdalene is confused. For the first time in years she trusts and loves a man again - but what kind of love is it? Is it romantic love? Brotherly love? She loves Jesus more than anything or anyone she has ever known, and she has no scope of experience for this love - she is strung out and pushed to the edge of sanity trying to figure it out.

You're not too male if you don't get that, you just might not understand the context. If you've not seen the musical done properly, that's entirely understandible. But anyway - she did have a good voice, she just didn't capture what the song was about :)

Aww bugger! no karaoke for me then! Oh wells after new years then I suppose ... I'll work something out ... I've gotten into a pattern now you see where I have to sing in front of people once a week or I go nuts. Everytime I go up there and perform I gain just that little bit more confidence I need to be able to take chances in my performance and do better. In my mind you gotta be really brave to do what the professionals do all the time and I'm just not used to the whole singing caper just yet. The aussie idol judges picked me up on my lack of confidence and experience hence I didn't get through.

OMG, TOTAL WEINER-BURGER. UK pop idol should NOT BE THERE.

I actually disliked most of them. <3 Guy, <3 Kelly's voice but I agree, she gets louder and louder and YOU JUST WISH THE SONG WOULD END ALREADY. The little 16 year old had a mullet. No matter how strong her voice was, the fact that she had a mullet made any respect I might have had for her disappear. And she had this Avril Lavigne punk-ass I-Am-So-Fucking-Hard-Core-It-HURST attitude which shat me up the wall. :D

Ohhh that little sixteen year old has a genuine inner strength that Avril doesn't have. Next to her, Avril is a little whiny bitch. But she needs to solidify the whole package by choosing strong songs that suit her voice. Either that or altering her singing for the song she chooses. : )
