Hey all,

I know it's been forever since I posted on here, but I've barely been doing anything productive this year, and I wanted to post some shit before it's out.

First off: Merlin. Haven't actually watched the last episodes, and cannae bring myself to. It was a sweet, adorable show where nothing bad happened, and it was, for a long time, my solace in life. Bad stuff happens outside of Camelot. In Camelot, the good guy always wins. Except in Series 5. In Series 5, practically everyone dies and Merlin is sad and lonely and Camelot's bright future is - well who fucking knows. And I know that it's what happened in the myth, but let's face it - in the myth, Lancelot doesn't die, GWAINE DOESN'T FUCKING DIE (I will never forgive them for that shit) and Gwen cheats on Arthur. I mean, if that shit happens in the myth but not in the series, they could have let Gwaine live and maybe winkle something different for Arthur. It's just depressing. I know it's just supposed to be like that but I can't deal with it.

Okay, New Doctor Who. I've heard word that people don't like the new companion. I really have lost the energy to lose my shit over whether the companion is to my tastes or not. As long as they're not cruel or horrible people, I will be fine. If the Doctor is happy again, I will be fine. I just relaxed and enjoyed the show. Cause, you know, NOBODY I LOVED WAS GOING TO BE TORTURED AND MURDERED BY MORGANA OR ANYTHING. I may have issues. I mean, yeah, Oswin is a bit Mary-Sue, but I felt that way about River and I ended up loving her, so I'm going to wait before unleashing the venom. With the way TV is these days, I'm not going to be all, "OH NO, not ANOTHER clever capable woman!!" I'm just - I don't have a horse in that race, you know? Romana was my companion, and Sarah Jane. And Leela. And Donna. And Amy. And I love them, but they all come and go and this one will go if I end up not liking her. *shrugs* Who gives a shit? I enjoyed watching it, it was fun, lightweight, trigger-free, and just the thing I needed after Merlin.

Finally, The Hobbit. I heard a few people were disappointed. Me? I loved it. Loved every second of it. Was utterly transported and I loved it. It felt just like the novel to me, even though different tomes and notes were squished together and shit. My sister and her husband didn't like it as much as I did, didn't think it was as good as the first trilogy. Again, I'm just happy to watch a fun adventure where nobody is going to die. I know what happens, I've read the book, I'm just chilling and enjoying it immensely. The songs were cute, I missed Bag End SO MUCH and seeing Hobbiton again made my hobbit heart sing. Seeing a jovial, royal Galadriel was lovely, and a mischievous Gandalf - it's nice. Not so dark, not so heavy. Again - NEEDED IT. Martin Freeman was wonderful, Aiden Turner was absolutely sexidorable as Kili, and Richard Armitage was incredibly Princely. The CGI was brilliant, and the songs were actually fun. I had fun. I had lots and lots of FUN watching that movie, I could watch it again and again. I know it's probably not high cinema, but I don't fucking care. :D
