I don't even know how to write this post. This is so sad, it tears at my heart so much, I don't know what words to even use.

How can I talk about what she meant to me as a kid? I listened to her singing, I learnt *so* much about the craft. There's so much I owe to her. For a time, she was larger than life, so beautiful, so much more than the other performers.

I am so sad this horrible world tore her apart. I wanted her to make it. I wanted her to survive, and to be happy. I'm so sad and angry it ended like this.

I hope, wherever she is now, that she's at peace. And honey, I will carry what you taught me by example for the rest of my life. Your talent and light will resonate on.

I'll never forget you, Ms Houston.

I swear, the music industry makes me so fuckin' sick. I hope the internet destroys it one day, or revolutionises it. It's made up of sharks and leeches. This is why we keep losing our stars.

I was a fan in that I had a lot of her songs on my tapes as a kid (particularly Queen of the Night, which was my pump-up-before-auditions song) and when I got serious about my singing, I listened to her.

If I sang "I Will Always Love You" at karaoke nights, I would always get someone coming up and saying I was good. But everything I learnt about singing that song in that style, I learnt from Whitney. (Though I love Dolly's version too).

She was truly phenomenal. And I'm so angry at this world. They treated her horribly in her final years. They laughed at her and trashed her, and I refused to. I know how I'd feel if a sickness took my voice away. It was a tragedy, not a sideshow. I wish the world had been kinder to her. I wish this was the sort of world where that would be a possibility. :(
