I'm eating Connoissieur icecream (choc malt chunks in vanilla and choc with choc sauce) and I'm watching the first season of Supernatural (to help me understand half of what's going on in a meta RPG I'm in).

Guilty pleasures, I'm swimmin' in 'em!

One ep in - GOD DAMN this show hates women!! Thankfully, this is no surprise to me. Supernatural Wank has armed me against the misogyny inherent in the system TV show. I'm going to try to take it with some dry humour.

Ep 2 - Dean, honey, you need a fuckin' thesaurus. There are other naughty words other than bitch. No, seriously, after he says it about six times an ep, it loses its punch.

Ep 3 - The soundtrack to this show is tragic, but fun. LOL.

Bloody Mary ep - I've seen this one. You know, if you had a drink every time Jensen Ackles pulls duck face, you wouldn't have a liver left by the end of the episode. It's such a versatile expression. He uses it for everything. Toughness. Compassion. Deep, duckish thoughts...

Ep 6 - Did they lift the key of In Da Gadda Da Vida? More violence against women. Yay. *sigh* Oh, it's APOLOGIST story as well! *sigh* "He seemed like such a nice guy!" Not a nice trope to use in a story, really.

Ep 9 - We have Magical Negro! This show isterrible but I can't stop watching it.

I'm watching season five atm (it's decent enough background noise while ironing/crocheting/interneting) and I'm enjoying making fun of it...

The trouble is the Teenager currently staying at my house genuinely enjoys the show. And thinks it's good. And enjoys Torchwood for the same reasons. And many other shows that kadeton and I enjoy making fun of.

It's a little awkward and it's making me feel old. :(

That said, it's amazing how well AC/DC seem to be doing lately with their music appearing in shows/movies.

I think I shouldn't read your posts on Supernatural. :) We obviously see it completely differently! If you don't enjoy it, I hope you don't feel like you have to watch it for us on Amazon...I don't know a lot of people's characters, but I still play with them. I know most of yours just by your characterizations.

I'm feeling sad and PMSy today...

No no, I love it! LOL. I just enjoy things by pulling them apart. And now that I'm about 14 episodes in, the show has calmed down a lot and is more about the brothers and what they go through than how bad-ass they are. It's really nice to see two dudes be genuine to each other.

And the thing about the tragic soundtrack? It was more of a gag about the fact that half of the songs are on MY winamp playlist. They keep name-dropping my favourite classic rock bands. I was thrilled by the Acca Dacca (AC/DC) references, cause, well, those dudes are an institution in Australia, and I'm a huge Bon Scott fan.

I am also falling in love with Dean's car. Screw Jensen and Jared. I want to make love to the Impala.

Oh hon, it's okay. I was like that last week, it was pretty sad. I did a pyjama party post, by the by.

Gods I forgot about those first few episodes... it really does get better. And the classic rock references never stop. ;-)
