No Richard. No snarky British men. Canned laughter. They're talking about cars that "pull chicks".

Fuck you, Top Gear Australia.

UK Top Gear has a lot of comments on what cars will get you a lot of 'badge'.

So I'm not sure talking about pulling chicks is all that different, especially as I'm fairly sure the current version of top gear was formed with the idea that people don't care about the technical stuff, just how fun it is to drive and if people will sleep with them if they drive it. I think the difference is, UK Top Gear isn't shit.

The first couple of seasons of UK Top Gear were shit (well, the couple of episodes that I was unfortunate enough to watch anyway). These days it's generally pretty watchable.

I wonder if the Aussie one will improve with age??

The first couple of seasons were a lot different sure, I don't think the series really picked up until they started doing the challenges. I enjoyed them all the same though, the earlier stuff just has a slightly different focus (you actually have to like cars to watch earlier stuff I think).

I dunno, I doubt the aussie one will last long enough. Also from memory, no cute guys :(

I think the Aussie Top Gear has already improved now that James Morrison has replaced Annoying Wanker Guy Who Wishes He Was Jeremy Clarkson (I couldn't care enough to remember his name). It's still not as good as UK Top Gear, but it's actually starting to get character of its own instead of trying too hard (and failing) to copy the original. I'm willing to give it a chance. I like James Morrison :)

Also, yeah, I remember seeing plenty of talk on Top Gear UK about how cars could pull chicks! Hee hee hee. Badge.

There's canned laughter? Isn't that from...you know...the live audience, like on Top Gear UK?

There's something about the editing that makes it sound utterly put on.

I haven't noticed that, but I can totally understand not being as into the Australian version as you are into the original. I mean, I'm not either (and I HATED Top Gear Australia at first!). But I am pleased that it hasn't turned out as blokey and alienating as I expected. The thing I've always liked about Top Gear is that, unlike car magazines for example, it never made me feel unwelcome because I'm a woman.

Top Gear Australia is the biggest pile of shit ever! The presenters are all so laaaaame!

TG UK however, is one of my favourite shows.
