Shocking pictures from the riots in Tehran. The "government" there don't want the outside world to see these pictures, so share them. Be angry for them and let the world know these people want their freedom.

Western-style democracy is at this point inevitable for Iran, but it's going to be a very long and exceedingly painful process.

I'm amazed at the bravery of these people.

My god, they're so brave.

I'm so disappointed by the results. T___T Sigh.

Me too. But clearly, these people aren't going to take this. It's both heartening and frightening at the same time.

The atmosphere *before* the polls was amazing apparently - night after night of rallies, chanting on the street, both camps cheering their own sides louder and louder, with no violence, no police crackdowns, just a lot of nervous tension about when and if it was going to turn to burning cars in the streets.

Women were participating in a way that had never been seen before, and nobody knew what to make of it.

They've been having photos of the women doing their thing and being political over at Jezebel. I've loved seeing it and I was looking forward to the elections, hoping to see them get the outcome they wanted. This result is just heartbreaking.

The regime could have at least made it look close, but they had to be stupid as well as tyrannical. 40 million votes hand-counted in two hours? Mousavi losing his own Iranian Azerbaijan province? The cities voting for Ahmadenijad? Did they honestly believe that even the most casually observer wouldn't realize what is going on?

And then Khamenei having the cajones to call the results a "divine assessment". Implicating God in your chicanery - GRRRRRRRRR.
