I don't know if I've missed it or not, but it's Blog Against Disablism Day. So I wrote a post about it in my blog, which I'm linking to here.

Check out some of the posts at the BADD homepage. It's so important for able people to both be aware and to support those in the community who are less fortunate than themselves, and by support, I mean at least treating them like human beings and making sure they are enjoying all of their inalienable human rights.

Or, to nick SKM's formulation, it's important for PWD, when they wish and not on demand by TABs, to enhance the education of those whose understanding is limited by chronic wellness.

Hmmm...you would probably be interested in reading many of my friend [livejournal.com profile] greenie_breizh's entries. She recently posted some interesting links and thoughts about disablism/ablism, but her primary studies are in gender identity, sexual identity, and women's studies. You should check her out. :-)
