Some levity!

As some of you may or may not have heard, Clay Aiken put on his Big Man pants and finally came out.

The problem with this is that a huge number of his die-hard fans are batshit middle-aged bible-thumping morons. Now, I've been following the Claymageddon since yesterday (it's distracting AND hilarious, I could kiss that ranga faggot!) and man, have I seen some CHOICE quotes!

• I will never be able to listen to him sing, "O Holy Night," knowing he desires unholy nights.


• please tell me I'm not the only one who is shocked beyond belief! I feel numb I'm so upset. This can't be real!! How can you guys say this won't change anything? This changes EVERYTHING. I don't even know what to think right now.


• This is a gut wrenching day for The ClayNation. Somebody wake me up, I hope its a dream.


• I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach yet again. This isn't the way I expected to see Parker presented to the world. Some sort of forewarning to the fans would have been nice IMO. Can't think much past that right now.
  
• I have defended Clay for years against these accusations. What do I say now?


• I'm thinking that someone who states he is gay can still believe in abstinance and be abstinant. Lots of people abstain from sex for various reasons. I mean, I'm divorced, have never remarried, and for obvious moral reasons, I will always abstain since I doubt I'll ever remarry. And there's nothing wrong with that. If Clay is gay, I'd love to see him go that path. But that's obviously his decision. I know where my prayers will be tonight.


• i think clay got too caught up with all the hollywood gays and felt backed into a corner after he didnt find a girl he could be with.

For the most part, his fans seem to be supportive and accepting of him, which I think is just great. I applaud anyone in the public eye who decides to come out, it's very brave. Good on him, I say!

OMG what. People are such freaking morons. All these pathetic self-centred idiots crying "oh noes! how could he do this to US!!" Forewarning to the fans? I mean, WHAT?? But that last one particularly bothers me. You'd "love" to see someone you like and respect go through life denying his feelings, hating himself for something he can't change, and never experiencing physical intimacy with someone he loves? Really? Gee, that's...sweet.

The whole situation is silly and in some ways tragic that some people can't accept it. How anyone couldn't have known he's gay as Christmas morning is somewhat unbelievable, but I suppose I can see how it'd happen.
