I am the stuff of the earth,
the grit and the mud that makes the walls I live within.
I am the sky that covers me,
the blue lives in my eyes and stirs my heart well.
I am the song that I ear each day,
the tunes that billow and willow and search for the truth.
I am the dance that I see my folk do,
the stamp of their feet echoes through me for always.
I am the food that is served each day,
the hot steaming meals that are always prepared with love in mind.

I am all these simple things,
These little things made me and drive me.
I do not think myself much more than this,
Nor would I want to be when I see their simple beauty.

I live each day with these simple things,
And a smile is sure to reach my face if I always have them.

They are all I need, and that makes me a glad soul.
