The op day is looming ever closer. I woke up with a sore throat, and I'm praying I don't catch a cold and have to skip on the op.

So, Peter Brock died. I was genuinely sad to hear about that. I used to watch a bit of racing as a kid with my brother Paul and Dad. Cars were the height of cool with my big bro, and I *tried* to understand everything that was going on, but I was only a tiny girl. What I did understand was that Brock kept winning the races and he was very handsome. He was the only guy I ever really remembered from race to race. I saw footage of his son (who looks just like his mum, which is a shame cause those hot Brock genes should be continued), and I felt so sad for him. It's always too soon to lose your Dad, no matter what age you are. Brock used to help homeless kids, too. I just keep thinking - who will torture the helpless little green grippy gecko now?

So - God hates famous Australians this week. My brothers and I were speculating who the next famous Australian will be that'll buy the farm. I joked that it'd be funny if it were Ray Martin. Cause every time some famous Aussie dies, Ray does a special on him. What will Channel 9 do if Ray dies? Does he have a pre-recorded special on himself?

"Hi. I'm Ray Martin. Tonight, we pay tribute to a very special Australian. He was a top bloke, a hero, a television icon. I'm talking about, of course, myself. I'm sure you'll all miss me."

Again, the gallows humour. I also joked that it'd be totally inappropriate if someone had a t-shirt that said "I love stingrays!". With the heart instead of the 'love' and everything. I mean, it'd be bad to be a stingray fan about now. Everyone would totally misunderstand your enthusiasm for them.

Anyhoodles. I got two of the version 3 tamagotchis. Apparently they're the 'gold' ones. Whatever that means. All I know is that they bleep a lot and are fucking demanding little fucks. But it's fine, cause I have time to kill.

Very important footie games at the moment! These finals are going to be GREAT! Two WA teams taking part, also Adelaide in there too - I'm very excited!! I'll be watching the Dockers game today, and the Eagles match. Caaaarn Eagles! CAAARN the Dockers!!

I bought art stuff. Like I need any more. I think I have a compulsive obsessive disorder geared for art supplies. If I walk into either a newsagent or an art shop, I must have some kind of new pen or paint or pad of paper when I leave. It's a DISEASE!! I bought cheap gouache (I don't have any and I don't think I can spell it), some brush-tip textas and ... that's it. Oh, some Crayola Gel pens. Cause my Colorific Gel Pens are dead. I'd buy more Colorific but they don't make the fuckers any more. I weep! :(

Obviously, my niece has learnt to use my update agent. The pen icon is all pink so she gets all excited by it and clicks on it. Then she types in garble-dee-gook and presses the 'post entry' button. She's too damned clever, that girl.

I sat with her yesterday and we watched Lazytown. Both my sister Tina and I are getting kind of obsessed with it. The music is so much fun, and we both adore Robbie Rotten. Of course, one would question the wisdom of having grown (healthy, fit, charismatic) men in such tight pants on a kids show, where they regularly spread their legs and do athletic things. Both Tina and I were gasping and laughing at the episode where Sportacus' shoes go AWOL on him (thanks to Robbie Rotten's evil lazy plans) and he kept writhing and bucking on this bench in Lazytown. In his practically skin-tight pants. With no crotch-shield to hide any naughty shapes. We saw everything. Of course, watching a proto-version of Robbie Rotten filmed in Iceland, I learnt that Robbie Rotten is a little more 'talented' than Sportacus in that respect. I know who I'd end up with. ;) Anyhow, I've had the "You Are a Pirate!" song stuck in my head for *days*. It really is a fabulous pirate song. It'll be going on my pirate CD for "Talk Like A Pirate Day" this year.

Okay - I'm off. Don't know what I'm going to do. I should probably write my RPG post. I'm very sore and tired right now (didn't get to sleep until, like, 12:30) but I don't want to sleep through the football.

Laters!

Heya! Cool icon! Stephanie is so adorable. Or the girl that plays her. I saw they originally had a cute little asian girl to play her. I think the girl that ended up playing her has a little more energy and enthusiasm. It's the nose-wrinkle that does it.

*Giggles* That's seriously about all I got. I'm hearing it all over the place lately--I've just heard that it's apparently a shortening of 'Whatever', but that's not really the context I've heard it in, though it has been said that it also originated in Aussie-land.

"Evs" or "EVS"--"Eh-vvsss".

...Please don't hate me for how batty I am? *Pleads*

... Why would I hate you?! LOL! You were just asking a question! I wasn't sure if that was the 'evs' you were talking about.

Yeah, I've heard people say 'whatevs' but not 'evs' on its own. Obviously I am too old and too uncool to have heard the latter :D
