Mices. Pain.

Tonight, I got to sleep at a decent hour. I was having GOOD sleep too. And do you KNOW what wakes me up?

A CAR ACCIDENT! Yay! /sarcasm. Thankfully nobody was seriously hurt. The guy's little red car smacked into the back of a cherry picker that was stupidly parked on the road (We have a narrow road so you CAN'T do that, it's only two lanes). He staggers out, wanders down the street. Me and Scotty go down the street after him, thinking he might be in shock. The guy finally comes back and it's clear he's REALLY drunk. He starts talking about how it's his car but his friend was driving it and that he doesn't know where his friend is. I don't have to be Poirot to guess he's making shit up so he can avoid involving the cops. Mum called the cops anyway cause the car was blocking the street and the dude was trying to push it away. He could have had internal injuries or shock or something cause I tell you - that car was a MESS! I thought a gun had gone off or something with the sound the impact made, it was madness.

The dude tries PUSHING the car off the road. My other brother, Paul, helps him, just to keep the guy there and occupied. Mum had to phone the police twice, and they came the second time once my mother told them the guy was interfering with the car. There were here in like TWO seconds, it was amazing.

A *very* cute policewoman took our details. Curvy and hot. It was especially cool when she bent over to pick stuff up off the road.

Then the firemen came!! That was exciting. They took out their hoses and sprayed the road off of any possible petrol and stuff. They swept up the mess, too. The police called a car to take the guy somewhere (I think they said Curtin, I'm not sure if they meant a hospital or not).

There was questioning and breathalising. The first thing I made sure of when all this happened was to check under the wheels of the car, make sure my cat wasn't under there. He wasn't, thank God. Cause would there have been a scene THEN. Hair pulling, chest thumping, shirt tearing, tear streaked, screaming fury. Scotty wouldn't have been impressed either.

Within forty-five minutes or so, everything was cleaned up and they all drove away. Now the street is silent again. I felt like I'd witnessed an episode of COPS or something, so it was kind of interesting, watching these people do their work at such an unGodly hour. I totally appreciate all the hard work they do.

I just keep thanking God that nobody was seriously hurt. I don't think I would be able to handle it if I saw a dead body or a mangled person or whatever. Then *I'D* have to be treated for shock.

Well, I'm having a hot milo and hopefully some more sleep.

*lol* a bit of morbid excitement to wake you from your slumber.

i used to live on the corner of a main road and a residential street, and i swear this particular corner was a freaking hotspot for car accidents. we'd average one a fortnight. once someone even got hit outside our house and landed in our driveway!

and you know the horrible thing that i discovered. it would take the cops / ambulances around 20 mins average to arrive on the scene. but there'd be 3 tow trucks there within 5 minutes. always. it was creepy. they're like urban vultures.

You know what? The car is STILL out the front. No towies have come to get them yet, it's really weird.

The cops were here lickedy split once they heard that the kid was messing with the scene.

It wasn't really 'morbid' excitement cause the guy was okay. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been anywhere near as lighthearted about it if someone had been seriously hurt. I didn't really calm down and get intrigued by it all until I was sure that it was just the one guy in the accident and he was okay. And it kinda shook me up - kept worrying about it in my dreams. Stupid, I know, but seeing a crash like that... maybe it recalls when my sister was in a crash (and did NOT come out of it as well as this stupid drunk bastard did). I don't feel bad for letting the cops know he was responsible because he could have killed someone, stupid prick.
