You know... music tafe is really damned trying for me. It's just one day after another of things telling me that I've not presently really got enough to me to be successful.

But - this is no whinge. It's no "Oh woe is me!" cause - shit. I can wail or I can get to work and *do* something. I can learn how to do the things I want to do - and that's really exciting!!

So. News is - remember how I've been saying "I'm going to have an art sale" for ages now?

Well it's really happening. I'm having a SALE-o-RAMA of HUGE proportions.

Here's what I'm going to have up for offer!!

- silver or gold signed glossy prints of your favourite NLorenz artworks in archive quality paper.
- Original commissions and pieces that were drawn specifically for sale
- Magnets, stickers and other cute things like that for your files, fridges and cars.

It's the only way I can think of to raise money to go to the studios. I simply don't have any other way of making the cash. I don't have enough time to have a job, and my centrelink payments are just covering both my fees and my living at home expenses.

Anyway, any suggestions you have for my sale are welcome. Let me know what you think I should sell or good ideas - stuff like that.

Anyone that's willing to help me with specific coding for forms - please, if you can do that stuff, and you would like to help, let me know. I really am desperate.

I'm going to go play on deviant art. I'm a bit worried I have a bit of hearing loss. When I lie in bed I can hear a slight ringing in my ears, and I looked at some hearing loss sites and I have some of the warning signs (having to get people to repeat things, though I *swear* that's more to do with them having funky broad aussie accents and me growing up with european accents around me than anything). So I might take it up with my doctor.

God. Mood swing. Weird.

ETA: DeviantArt has some really kick-ass rates for prints. What I might do is get some from them and sign them. Or if you don't want the higher price of a signed piece, go for the un-hand-signed print. Hmm. I'll have to talk to some print shops around town.

I have hearing loss. I've had the ringing in my ears thing since I was a kid, so not all of it is seeing live music. (Note to mum: it's not just those rock bands. The Peking Opera was the loudest thing I've ever been to). I have difficulty hearing quiet things if there is any background noise (eg people at parties)
I now take ear plugs to every gig I see to try to slow the rate of further hearing loss. Shame the spa's so noisy : )
I went straight to a hearing clinic to get tested (save yourself the time and effort of a trip to the doctor - he/she'll just send you off to get your hearing tested). Result: yes. Hearing loss. Can hear things in quiet environment. WHen there's a bit of background noise - not a chance of hearing a goddam thing.
The advice to me: don't get a hearing aid just yet. Work on your strategies (like telling people I have impaired hearing and so can they speak up and face me when talking so I can lip read a little). Try to have a quiet working environment. (Hmm. Emergency departments. Quiet? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ah I'm screwed)
Work on preventing future hearing loss.
Still, I'm hoping that by the time I do need technology, it will have caught up with my expectations! I want a cochlear implant with Bluetooth (or future equivalent)!

Hey, Nacey, how much does good studio time run in the Perth area? Do you have a fundage goal (that you'd be willing to say)? It's a thing of such variable cost here in our strange country, and I haven't the foggiest what it would be in yours.

Just wondering what your goal is.

And if I recall correctly, Pete Townshend has had tinnitus for most of his career, and he still went on to do some amazing things, as I think you know.

Well, about 3000 dollars at least. But I know I'd only get about 1500 at most. That's Australian. :)

Beethoven was completely deaf for the latter two decades of his career. Still, he's dead now, so look where commercial success got him!

You're comissioning pieces? I'd be thrilled to get an RP pic. If that's what you meant, of course. :) And I know I've asked you this about a billion times, so one more no and I'll shut up forever. LOL
