Notes: People might think it a bit of a strange portrait of her, but it's based on my observations of the third movie. Watch the young actress at the table with Parvati, and the one with the close group of Gryffindors when Harry wakes up from his Dementor-induced unconsciousness.

This is beautiful. I love her hair and her collarbone.

Reading the books, I always imagined Lavender as a small black girl. I have no idea why. Only when I got into fandom did I realize that other people imagined her as white. And blond. *shrugs*

I never pictured her as blonde. She's always been dark-haired to me. It wasn't until I saw PoA that I thought about her being black, and once I did - well I didn't go back. I just love her this way! :)

Also, now that you've both mentioned it, I find it EXTREMELY weird that I've always thought her to be blonde AND white. Damn. Must be 'coz of the predominant fandom idea that Alysia mentioned she noticed people had. Huh. Will have to look closely the next time I watch PoA again.

Good thinking, Connie. Watch POA and see who's hanging right next to Parvati!! :) It's interesting, though, because in the books JKR always seems to mention which kids are black (e.g. Lee Jordan and Dean Thomas), which was why the "unknown black kid who got all the weird lines" seemed so odd in POA.

Funny, I noticed the black girl in the POA movie too, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out who she was supposed to be. Cause like everybody else, I somehow imagined Lavender Brown as white/blond/blah, blah. I remember saying to my hubby that that Cuaron guy must be jonesing for that girl since he's inserting her all over the movie. Wouldn't put it past him...

Hehehe. I imagined her white and brunette. I always thought Claire Danes would be an excellent Lavender, but since the PoA movie, I've sort of reconsidered it.
