Okay, so maybe you get what you pay for.
Apr. 13th, 2008 11:36 amAfter all that kvetching, I'm deciding to stick with Interscot for my main dot.com. Reasons:
- I have a particular dude that gives me support and it's always him. He always helps me promptly and I've never ever had a problem with him. It's nice to be able to talk to a familiar name/face.
- They've agreed to let me have the php support, even though I'm on the base plan.
- Guy tells me that to be more competitive, they're going to add more features to each plan.
- Moving my entire website would be a HUGE FUCKING PAIN IN THE ASS.
- They don't mind that sometimes I break my bandwidth limit, I just warning emails.
- Zero downtime. Ever.
- I know how to use the PLESK app thingo.
- Did I mention being given PHP and mySQL database at no extra cost to me?
So these people are willing to do what they need to to make sure I stay with them. Basically - they care whether I'm a customer or not. I've read enough bad experiences on other bigger web companies that makes me sort of "Hmm... maybe not." So, for my personal dot.com at least, I'm sticking with Interscot. Call me a fool, but hey, when you're happy you're happy! :)
