What Is Phalanx/PalaceChat?
Dec. 6th, 2006 10:27 pmHi everyone.
This is a spot for me to explain exactly what Palace Chat is to those that may not be aware of it. It's called Phalanx or PalaceChat these days (Depending on whether you're using a PC or a Mac) and it's a graphical chat environment that preceded IMVU. It's different to IMVU. IMVU is sort of an interactive *game* atmosphere, where-as Palace is an interactive Comic-book atmosphere. 3D versus 2D basically. Plus, with a little bit of patience, skill or help from a friend, you can have *any* kind of avatar you want in Palace. You can be an animal, a flower, a picture of you, a picture of a building, a doll, a mythical creature - anything! It's also easy to get around once you use it for an hour or so. If you miss a conversation bubble - just look in on the log!
Here are some pictures of what Phalanx is like. I like pink, so I chose a pink skin. There are other colours to choose from (blue, black, red, purple, orange, etc).
( Screenshots of Phalanx... )
Palace Chat used to be a bit of a tradition in the Xenaverse. Seeing as the technology is still developing, and so is the fandom, I don't see why we shouldn't resurrect something that I thought brought fun and unity to the fandom.
