Well. Everyone was saying what they got for Christmas, and apart from me bitching about my period, I didn't do that. And this is going to be a pretty short post if I stick to that. Our families are pretty short on money. Most of the effort was spent making nice Christmas food and making sure the kids got good presents. I baked cookies for my elder siblings and their families, which took me all Friday. Then the next day I spent the entire day making two presents - mermaid tail for Ruby and a Saurian Brandy bottle for Paulie. I was up until 3:30 in the morning making that mermaid tail for my niece. It looked gorgeous. It was SIX INCHES too SHORT for her cause I remembered the measurement WRONG (I lost the piece of paper I made measurements with). I could so kick myself. I'll be fixing it for her today.

I got four radiohead CDs from my little sister Tina. She's so sweet. I'll listen to them while I clean my room today. Seriously, I've never had so much radiohead to listen to in my life. I'm so fucking excited! My sister Helen got me a block of chocolate. Eventually my new pencils will come through in the mail - that's my present for me. Oh and Dad got me a bar of strawberry soap from the Body Shop. It's our sort of joke present thing, and seeing as he didn't get anyone anything this year, I really appreciate it. It's my favourite soap ever. My nieces, Emmy and Lily, gave me a present. It was so sweet of them! They gave me a winged unicorn stuffed animal (I love stuffed animals) and a couple of mermaid-y necklaces.

What I got for people this year:

- Queen: Live at the Wembley Stadium DVD for my little bro Scotty.
- Plastic shiny glittery tube things that you make funky bracelets out of for Lily
- Earrings for Emmy who just got her ears pierced
- A small blackboard and a mermaid tail for Ruby
- Chocolates for all the nieces and nephews
- Ghostbusters 1&2 on DVD in a set for Tina
- The Party on DVD for Mum
- An art nouveau-ish tin of biscuits for Mum
- Tim-Tam biscuit tin for Dad
- Cookies for all the family

I didn't have much money to spend this year. Probably about 200 at the most. And I probably shouldn't have spent that, considering I have surgery and shit on the horizon. But what's Christmas without presents, I ask you? Plus I just *love* giving people things. I swear, it's my favourite part of Christmas. Giving someone a present you took extra special time to pick and watching their faces as they open it.

It's cool that I didn't get much, though, cause we kinda share shit in our family anyway. My little brother got the Back to the Future trilogy on DVD, and I just love those movies. We've been watching those. And I've been watching all the extra features on the Black Books DVDs I got for my sister a couple of months ago. Boxing Day was sweet. It was me, Christmas leftovers, soft drink and six straight hours of Black Books goodness. This was after about twelve hours sleep, too. (Which I oh so badly needed!)

Today I'll be cleaning the bombed wreckage that is my bedroom. Now, I don't mind being messy. Messy is as messy does and I have a lot of artwork and stuff that I don't have much room for.

But God HELP me, but I hate being dirty. Dirty is different. Dirty is a whole other kettle of fish. Dirty is what I'll be if I don't clean that room out PRONTO. Cause my father is rebuilding the kitchen, and there's been an exodus of mice from the kitchen area into the bedrooms. I will NOT stand for rodents in my bedroom!! So! The room is being cleaned and the traps and cats are going IN. I'm not allowing this cohabitation of meeces any longer!

Especially when they KEEP WAKING ME UP at night with their RUSTLING!

I hope you all had a good holiday!
