Father's Day morning
Sep. 1st, 2002 08:14 amI got my Dad a jigsaw puzzle set. He really loves those things. He has like, fifteen of the fuckers. It's not a difficult one, it'll take him a couple of hours to do. The reason I got it was the fact that it had London Bridge on it, and he went there on his holiday to the UK and Germany. I hope he likes it.
Every time I wake up, I'm faced with this monolith of a cardboard box, housing a Lord of the Rings video standee. On the side of it, as big as can be, are the words of my best friend Tom thanking me for being his bestest and greatest friend, and I can't help but feel absolutely wonderful when I see that. Especially when I wake up depressed so many mornings. But yes, it's nice to see it, and I feel instantly glad that I met Thomas, and I think, "Oh my God... how miserable would I be without a great guy like that as my buddy?"
Ever since he and I became friends, my life has been a thousand billion times better. Before him, life was boring, dull, and repetitive. Ever since then it's been weird and wild, and I thank him for it.
Thomas - you rock. I love you, man.
Nancy.
