New Year's Meme - appropriately late.
Jan. 2nd, 2004 08:36 am1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Ate a scallop.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make new years' resolutions because they're always broken. I just do it, what I want to change about myself. Like Yoda says - there is no try. There is no promises, only just doing it.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank God above me. Oh - except the neighbour's dog - she was SO NICE.
5. What countries did you visit?
None, damn it all! I want to travel so baaaad!!
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Fame and fortune. Or a nice new pair of shoes.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
26th of December. Tolkienmas. The last movie tearing my still-beating heart from my chest.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Starting on my demo CD and recording "Don't Treat Me Like That." Oh, and writing "I'm Touching You."
9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't believe in failures, just lessons.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes. Worst being the tonsilitis I had two weeks ago.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Order of the Phoenix! Or... hmm... Two Towers DVD? Shit I can't decide.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Lenny. He rocks. Hahaha kidding. I guess I don't really take note when people behave properly, or well, maybe cause I expect it? Cosima actually impressed me, that was a moment I said "now there's a professional", cause she bowed out in the end and looked after her voice. But I mean - Idol moment as an example of good human behaviour? There is something very wrong with that! LOL!! I guess my Mum has been as brilliant as ever this year, and I applaud her. She not only works her arse of as a representative of local Council, but she's a full-time mother that cooks us dinner (I offer to cook but no one will let me around here! What's up with that?!) and takes care of us if we need her help. Not two days ago I was lying on the floor of the hall in agony because of a pulled back and intercostal muscle, and she was rubbing anaesthetic cream into it for ages for me, and all the while she's still recovering from the gall bladder operation she had. I mean, she just rocks. So props to my Mum, man, she's the bomb.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The wanker that stole my purse.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Crap. On crap. And clothes. And vet bills.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Moving forward in my career.
16. What songs will always remind you of 2003?
Satisfaction, Benny Benassi.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? The same.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Performing.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Sitting on my arse.
20. How will you be spending New year?
Getting drunk with my family.
22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
No.
23. How many one-night stands?
I don't do that shit.
24. What was your favorite TV programs?
Don't really have one.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate people, I just figure I have incompatibility issues with them. Hate's a very strong word.
26. What was the best book you read?
Well, that's a hard question to answer. I really enjoyed Order of the Phoenix, but I wouldn't say it was the *best* book. I also liked Tarzan of the Apes, but again not the *best* book. I think I'll pick 'The Time Machine' by HG Wells, because while I'd read it before at 13, it really is the best book I'd read that year, from what memory serves (which is patchy at best).
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I think Electric Six.
28. What did you want and get?
More clothes and make-up, and time with my niece.
29. What did you want and not get?
Fame, fortune and a fantastic root. I got another year with my beautiful family, benefits fro the government and no root. But I did also make steps towards achieving some real worthwhile goals in my music career.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Had a Harry Potter Party. And I was 24. AARGH! *sobs*
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Doing a few gigs.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Being a little more subtle in my outfits. But not that subtle. And jazzing it up some more. I am the flapper.
34. What kept you sane?
My cats, my family and my blessed little white happy pills.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Duh. LOL You so know.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Every half-witted stupid thing that John Howard did, that stupid idiotic penile-dysfunctioning little MAGGOT!
37. Who did you miss?
My Granny, as always.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I think I met Rod - I'm pretty sure actually. So Rod rocks my socks (DOUGIEEEEE!) And Brad, who is Tom's love of his life. I love Brad.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003.
I can do whatever I put my mind to. I can achieve things.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
It's a beautiful day
The sun is shining
I feel good
And no-one's gonna stop me now, oh yeah
It's a beautiful day
I feel good, I feel right
And no-one, no-one's gonna stop me now
Mama
Sometimes I feel so sad, so sad, so bad
But no-one's gonna stop me now, no-one
It's hopeless - so hopeless to even try
(It's a Beautiful Day - Queen).

You mean Navel-Boy?? :) He's very lickable!! :-) Oops I still owe you the beta on the end of that story. There's no good place to break it so the last part ends up being 38 pages. EEEP! But it's all good.
