Obligatory Micheal Jackson post.

Damn. I enjoyed a lot of that dude's music. Mostly the seventies and early 80s stuff. It's terribly sad that he's gone. But people really shouldn't fool around with opiate drugs like that. After I heard about his lifestyle, it figured.

I'm still more concerned about Iran.

Can I just tell you how bizarre the morning news has been here in the States? All of the morning programs have been about MJ - almost no mention of poor Farrah, and well, Iran... is under the radar, o_0

Iran has been and remains under the radar.

No mention of Farrah - she was eclipsed because she died a natural death (as painful and awful as it was and I wish cancer on no one ever). It's not exactly fair, but in terms of what gets people talking, so it makes sense.

I am really really sick of people deciding that what celebrities do is more important than actual world news that could, you know, impact our lives or something. But if I were being generous I might say that they figured people would be overwhelmed and needed something fluffy.

...If I were being generous.

And the fact that they find the tragic early death of a pop star fluffy really makes me weep for humanity.

The world's a fuckin' mess.

Hey, compared to Iran? MJ's death is like a day at the circus.

Compared to Iran it's like walking in front of a bus. If he hadn't had any kids it would have been ripe for a Darwin Award. Who takes that much pethadine?! Fuckin' hell.

Iran breaks my heart, Rebecca. I'm following Revolutionary Road (the blog by Saeed). That young man is so damned brave. I keep telling him that, I'm sure he's fucking sick of hearing me say that I'm praying for them.
