1. Pulling a idiotic Rip Van Winkle, killing off all your major recurring characters, ignoring everything that occurred in the the first 100 eps, and letting the secretary write the final eps- that wasn't doing 'a disservice' to the series at all.
2. How can ANYONE do a 'disservice' to a show that had eps dealing with the characters getting sick, throwing rock concerts, having one of your major characters run around in a pink nitie pretending to be an ape....etc etc etc.
3. Because the cheap-ass tactic of taking a pilot that you couldn't sell which has nothing to actually do with ANYTHING that happened in your show and then shoving it into some half assed flashback plot in the MIDDLE of your 5th season isn't doing 'a disservice' to the series?!
4. When the fuck did they start taking their own shit THAT seriously. Please.
The thing that floors me about RT's response to the question is that he flat-out ADMITS that he hasn't even LOOKED at the comics, so how the bloody fuck is he able to make any type of judgment upon them in the first place?! "Oh, they're just BAD because I say so and didn't have any say in writing the comics in the first place."
Y'know, come to think of it, that is what is pissing him off. He wasn't contacted to do the writing because Universal signed the rights over to Dynamic Forces/Dynamite Entertainment, and that's what got his boxers in a twist.
1. Dumbest move ever made on television to 86 a pregnancy and a very ill-conceived story arc in the first place.
2. *nods ferociously*
3. Lifeblood, forget me not! Oh wait, I already did!
4. They started taking their own shit seriously the minute the press started telling them that they more or less shit ice cream and started listening way too much to the most vocal part of the fandom.

Fuck that. It was tits, slapstick and a whole lot of bad hong-kong-esque fight scenes. That was the BEAUTY of it!

You see: TPTB need to have this type of shit thrown into their faces. It'd give them the reality check that they SO DESPERATELY NEED.
