Third pain bitching post in as many days. Whoo! I'm on a roll!

I took more codeine again. I should stop mentally punishing myself for it, you know? It's not my fault I'm in this much pain and I wouldn't be taking it if I didn't feel I needed it. It's just, all that I went through to get OFF the stuff. *sigh* I feel like I've fallen backwards, off a cliff or something.

I really need to make that appointment with the gynaecologist. *Sigh*

Sorry you're having such a rubbish time.

I gather you're considering going private? I've heard a rumour (from a reliable source who wishes not to be named) that once you have had private health insurance for a year (yeah, I know, 12 long months) the health-insurance company is legally obligated to fund treatment pre-existing conditions. If you need surgery, it gets very expensive very quickly (eg. I estimate that my abdominal surgery last year would've cost around $7,000 if I'd had to pay for it).

Good luck!

Ouch. Two people who are very close to me have recently had endo surgery and for both of them (different) gynos said they *must* go on the hard-core Pill or risk it all coming back. I don't know what it's called, but I'm guessing you would... Any chance of getting a prescription? Both of them seem heaps better since going on it, no pain and functioning normally (working full-time, families, etc). Hope you're feeling better soon!!

I agree

I agree that you shouldn't feel bad about taking the pain medication. As the signs in hospital say 'there is no benefit in living with pain.' But I also understand why you feel bad about taking it. I'm on oxycodone for my gut pain and I'm personally sick of the side effects so I've given myself the challenge of staying off it for a week. So even though its kind of hypocritical for me to say don't feel bad I still say don't feel bad about taking it. You shouldn't live with pain and from what you write your pain is a lot worse than mine anyway.

It's probably not, I just bitch and moan a lot. LOL! The periods are pretty bad though. Pain from my diaphragm to my knees, with funny feeling in the soles of my feet. :( It's awful.

Took the pills. Time to distract myself.

I failed. I lasted a whole 40 hours before I caved.

Hey man, forty hours of pain is pretty good. You did better than me!

You make it sound much more heroic then it actually was. I wasn't in pain for forty hours, I lasted forty hours without taking pain meds. I only lasted about four when the pain kicked in.

Ohhh, okay. Yeah, I put up with pain for about four to six hours before I say to myself "Fuck this, it's worth the side effects" and pop the pills.
