Homeless kitty is breaking my heart!!

There's a cat that's been hanging around our house lately. Tabby/white pattern on it, a male, seems to have a bit of a skin condition of some sort. It's been hanging around our front door all night pissing off Lenny. Lenny isn't happy in the slightest and he keeps swearing at this cat that we're calling "McNaught" until we can figure out what to do with him. We already have three cats - we can't afford another one!
But I don't want to take it to the Cat Haven cause I know they'll kill it. They'll have to, they're overloaded. My heart goes out to this poor kitty but I have to protect *my* kitties from skin conditions and whatever else the cat might be carrying. I don't have the money to care for it - I have no idea what to do!

Suggestions? Lemme know. I guess we'll keep feeding it while it sticks around. :T It's not like we have a choice - he'll take the food if its there!

there are no "no-kill" shelters near you?

Not near me, no. I might have to do a bit of a search. I want to do *something* for this cat.

Me too. Uhm, I don't know. I don't think we've had any new neighbours that I know of.

I know. But he's lucky - he came to my family for help. :)

I unfortunately have the same sort of thing, the worst part is that "homeless" (underfed, underloved) boy (big balls and fleas) kitty (teenager really) lives next door.

the first night I was here I didn't know where he lived so fed him and gave him attention and he was so happy, but then I saw him in the yard with the kids and the dogs weren't having a spac.

can't decide which is worse, stray cat, or house cat that noone loves/feeds

Off topic but what time did Scotty come home last night? Hehe.

OH! A little while after you left.

He did not get lucky. :( But he did get sand in his crack. BWAHAHAHAHA.

Wha happened? How the heck did he get sand in his- scratch that, I don't wanna know.

RSPCA won't euthanise unless the animal has serious health or behavioural issues. You could take him there.

Ohhh, bless you, Beej. You're a lifesaver, literally!!

:) Np.

I'm surprised how many people don't know about the RSPCA shelter and/or their policies.

My brother wants to take the cat to the vet to get it checked up before we take it to the RSPCA. I have to wonder why, since the RSPCA will no doubt check him there. I have to phone around to make sure the vets know that he's here, though. In case anyone is missing him.
