logansrogue: (Carrie and the Magnetism)
logansrogue ([personal profile] logansrogue) wrote2006-02-23 06:41 pm

Just so you know that I'm not comPLETEly wasting my time at home...

I've not been inactive these past few months. I *have* been drawing. You just haven't seen them cause I scan them in and then don't colour them, and you don't see them. So I thought, "Bugger it, they'd like to see the sketches surely!" Perhaps I am assuming too much? LOL! :P

Anyway, under the cut, some art that I've done lately. Enjoy!

Drawing lockstock and making her a mermaid.

Kalila.

Reginald Leighton.

Andrea Leighton.

Carrie Sinclair.

Andrea being incredibly groovay.

Ron and Luna. Yes, get happy Leda and [livejournal.com profile] shantari! It will be coloured eventually!

These look awesome!

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks, dude!

[identity profile] miconic.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, that's damn pretty! Glad you're not wasting away ;oD

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
Me? Never! The only wasting I'll do is when I'm dead.

[identity profile] starfyre01.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
Those all look great! Excellent :-)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, Sandy. :)

[identity profile] groovekittie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh those are so AWESOME! I am especially enamoured with Andrea being groovay. lol That's my favourite.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe. Why do I have the feeling you'd love "Carrie and the Magnetism"? It's all about the groove, baby.

[identity profile] groovekittie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oo! Where can I see it? XD I so probably would love it!

You're so talented, Nancy it makes my head hurt. lol Can I commission you to do a portrait of me and my daughter?

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure thing! Email me at naceyart@iinet.net.au - that's where I handle all my art stuff.

Carrie isn't up yet, I'm still writing the first script. Sorry! :T

[identity profile] groovekittie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw bummer. I can't wait now! I was just showing your DeviantArt gallery to a friend ("See? Isn't she *amazing*?!") and I ran across some of the sketches you did for it. Now I'm all excited about it. lol

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe. You can help me out by reading the script! I don't know if it's any good or not and I need feedback!!

[identity profile] groovekittie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd *LOVE* to! Send it to my groovekittie @ gmail.com account!

[identity profile] annearchy.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Wonderful work, as usual. Are you going to start basing Luna's features on Evanna? :D

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Uhm, once I see Evanna in some different shots, I may. I'm kinda attached to the Luna I have in my head (Who doesn't look like the Luna I drew there).

[identity profile] shantari.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
*gets happy*

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehehehe, that's nice!

[identity profile] mononwalker.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Lovely, Nacey. I love your body work. It's "superhero"-ish without all the bulging.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe. Thanks! I think they bulge - just in a nice, normal, yet impressive way!

[identity profile] myemmie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
these are all so pretty!! I love you're style, and am always impressed by the way you can capture such expression and life in the faces you create. You could make quite a living just being a portrait artist!

And your Ron is just perfect!! A little bit Rupert, but not quite....just spot on and wonderful.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha. He was supposed to be TOTALLY Rupert but I'm just not good at capturing his features. That and I was comic-ing it a bit, you know?

And thank you. I'm glad you enjoy my work. It means a lot to me. :)

[identity profile] myemmie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well - I hadn't meant that to be derogatory, at least.... :-)
But I like that, really - the kids in the movies are spot on as far as acting goes, but I've always imagined the characters looking a *little* different in my head.

So, whatever it was that you did, it sure is pretty. LOLZ!

[identity profile] myemmie.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
apparently everything is "spot on" today? *shrugs*

[identity profile] innermurk.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I love your style. It's so clean and clear in a pseudo realistic way that is very appealing.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Pseudo-realistic? What's that like? Hehehe. I kid, I'm a kidder. I love you, thank you, you're very kind. :)

[identity profile] innermurk.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
LOL...Well, that does sound weird. But I meant it as the highest compliment.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I was just teasing. :)

[identity profile] demosthenes91.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It has to be said, yet again... I love your anatomy!!

...

You know what I mean! Perv!

*laughs*

Yeah - I mean, your anatomical skills are just stellar. I love the mermaid. You skill really shines on her - from the foreshortened hand by her face, to her head tilted back to her torso all twisted. Excellent, excellent job.

And Andrea Leighton... she reminds me of Debbie Harry. *grins* I like how, in the groovy one, you have the shading on her inner thigh, and that small line that hints at the thigh muscle above her knee. It's little touches like that that really 'sell' the picture, you know what I mean?

Thanks for sharing - it's been way too long since I've seen your artwork.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude... how did you know I'd take that dirty? LOL!!!

The mermaid, well, she was from photography stock, so I had all the references for her. That shit is easy, doing good anatomy when you're working from a photo. But thank you, I appreciate the kudos.

Debbie Harry? Like the singer? Weird. She doesn't usually look like that. Oh well. She's cool, it doesn't matter. The shading is just my chronic addiction to shading stuff with funny little lines, even though these days I go in with digital paint and put the shadowing there. Thanks about the muscle line above the knee. I did this picture without any reference. I checked my hand in the mirror, and did a quick pose to check on certain folds of skin and so forth, but other than that, all from my head. That one I am proud of.

No problems, darling. And dude - your icon slays me. Who the fuck is that?

[identity profile] demosthenes91.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
That is the fantastic George Hamilton as 'Zorro - The Gay Blade'! Hilarious movie to be enjoyed again and again...

As for the Debbie Harry-ness, check out this picture of her, then just imagine that with the Leighton hairdo... it's like glam Deborah Harry with a Marilyn Monroe hair thing going on...

Or maybe I'm just crazy. I'll freely admit that!

:^)

[identity profile] venus-ice.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
you know, you draw ronpert better than he looks in real life. *squeezes you* argh i love it! the mermaid one is amaaazzing!

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
HAhahaha. I have this eery habit of making people look better than they actually look. Cause sometimes, Ronpert can look pretty unappealing to me.

Aww, thank you. Once I colour it, I'm showing it to the model. She's such a sweetheart!

[identity profile] venus-ice.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
ohh! i can't wait to see it colored. *hint hint* ;)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
You just want to see her nipples all pink, you pervert.

[identity profile] melalucci.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Carrie reminds me of you. :)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww! That is such a sweet thing to say! *melts*

[identity profile] nousia.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. These are gorgeous. :O

Mind sharing some of your talent with us, Nancy? ;)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Uhm... I could, but Mummy said to me that taking photographs of my 'talent' was bad, and that I shouldn't do it, no matter how much the nice men offered me.

But I can draw you a picture of it instead? ;-P

[identity profile] nousia.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs*

Sure, that'd be great. ;)

[identity profile] connaka.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
wheeee! Nacey!art! I loves me some prettiness! :D

awww at the Ron/Luna sketch! you know, as anxious as I am about OotP, I'm still really looking forward to seeing Luna Lovegood brought to life onscreen. let's just keep our fingers crossed in hopes that it'll turn out as we imagined!

ooooh! I also like Andrea Leighton. *giggles* She looks gorgeous, but in a kickass sort of way. Um, does that make sense? ;) hee!

anyways, LOVE them all babe! ♥

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you make sense. And I can't wait to see Luna in action either! :) Thanks for the feedback!

[identity profile] shadzane.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
I love the mermaid!

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Hehehe, thank you!

[identity profile] ana-christina.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always been a fan of your drawings, I believe you are very talented.

My favourite from this sample is the mermaid; it looks so alive!

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-25 08:45 am (UTC)(link)
That's cause it's from an actual life drawing. It's amazing how much life drawing can boost a picture's energy! Anyway, thank you, Ana!

[identity profile] lykeleia.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
As usual, I'm just blown away at how flawless, realistic, and amazing your art looks.

I literally squeed out loud when I saw the Ron/Luna pic. You know how awesome I think it is that you draw them based off the actors. I saw that pic, and I was gah, that such a Rupert/Ron look!

Great sketches darling. I'm so gkad you did them, I missed seeing your artwork. :)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, thanks, my darling! *hugs*

I like basing it off real people because it makes the art look more real and solid. Now I have a Luna to base stuff off - whee!

Thank you! There'll be more, don't worry!

[identity profile] lykeleia.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome! *squeezes* :D

Yes, indeed it does. I can't wait to see what you do for Evanna!Luna. Seeing how much I enjoy your Dan!Harry *drool, swoon, thud*, your Emma!Hermione *thud again*, and your Rupert!Ron *huggleshim*. :p

YAY! Can't wait.
