logansrogue: (Thoughtful Me)

I'm spending Valentines day with someone special.

I'll tell you about him. I'll tell you about all the wonderful things he's done for me, all the wonderful times we've had together."

I remember meeting him. The first thing he did when I was in the room was make his way over to me. I knew the moment I first held him that we were going to be together. He's seen me strong, he's seen me happy, he's seen me naked. He's been there when I've been intolerably lonely. He's seen my when I've been so scared and so sad that I don't even want to live any more. And it was hard for him cause sometimes he doesn't want to put up with my crazyness, but he didn't run away. He let me need him until I felt better, then he went to go do his own thing.

He's so beautiful sometimes it makes me want to cry. He's totally underappreciated, I think. But his family loves him very dearly. He can be soft and gentle, or he can be stupid and macho. I love him either way.

He's been with me for ten years and this year, it'll be eleven. I've loved every one of those days and I keep cherishing each one as if it'll be the last. I dance and sing to him, even if people think it's crazy. I spoil him with his favourite things and I defend him if he's done something wrong. I forgive him the terrible things he does and I look into his eyes and know, without any doubt, exactly what he thinks about me. He's open. He's a friend. He's my little guy.

There's never been a guy like this one. He's seen a lot of other guys come and go. He approves of them, or he tells them to shamoose with merely a look. He helps me check out all the boys that try to steal my heart. If they don't like him, then they'll never get anywhere with me.

I love the golden afternoons in the spring and summer that I spend with him. We sit in the beautiful grass, enjoying the sun, playing together, talking. He doesn't say much but I know he does his best. He's a miracle.

Happy Valentines day, my dearest little Lennon.

I know, I'm totally sad for writing such a thing about my cat, but you know what? It's all true. Every single word. He's been there for me like nobody else has. Thank you, my little buddy guy.

I know. I'm fucking nuts. LOL!

No, I think it's cute.

I wish I had a kitty like that. Or still had my puppy. She left us last year. *still miss her*

Hate that my apartment mangement won't let us have pets.

Actually, I'm slightly jealous of you having a friendship like that. never really got that close to Midget. (she was a minature dashound. My baby sister Kim, named Midget when she was in kindergadren. *can't spell* ) She was the only pet we had the entire time I was growing up besides the various fishes. I've just always been highly phobic of dogs for some reason. Midget knew I wasn't very comfortable around her, but she still took care of me when I was sick.

I didn't get Lenny till I was fifteen going on sixteen. But we had the sort of house that homeless kitties flocked to. They knew they were safe here. They just loved it. I trust cats cause they know good people. I love dogs too but I don't trust them as much as cats. Mainly because dogs can kill people, but a cat never could or would. Sure, they'd maul the SHIT out of you but you don't hear about the family cat eating any babies now, do you? Though I feel perfectly comfortable around small puppy type breeds. Those I am perfectly relaxed around.

I've loved a lot of cats. Lennon is the first one I raised from a baby. I've nursed him through minor injury and cat flu (He carries the virus so he gets the sniffles from time to time). When he was a tiny kitten, and I'd feed him every day, I'd give him the spoon to lick that I'd spoon out the cat food with. And he LOVED to lick it! He does love his food, that boy. His favourite thing is cheese.

It's a shame you don't have an animal to share your life with. God, they teach you so much. I've learnt so much from cats. They're amazing animals.

LOL! I was reading the text going, "Uhhh... OK...."

Finally, someone as mad about their pet as I am. My dog is called Millie and she is the cutest ickle doggie in de whole wide world... *melts*

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehehe. That was the point. I was being funny. LOL!

Pets are awesome. Life isn't complete without a little life to share it with.

Awwwww... That's the way we all feel about Ollie. He's a very special little guy and he's as cute as a button :-D

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Ollie IS adorable. *cuddles the doggy* I love poodles!

Weaver's the same breed as Lennon, I think, except that he has a cute pudgy face from not getting neutered until he was a year old. Testosterone does weird things to ya, man.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Lennon had that pudgy face. He just lost it all again. Plus, it gets VERY hot here in Australia. Cats shed a lot in the summer.

[identity profile] shantari.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, the cutest Valentine. ^_^ I would pick him over most guys to spend my Valentine's Day with. Seriously, I would! *tries to kidnap him*

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha. I'm sure he would have some issue with that, considering that he doth loveth me muchly. But I'm sure he'd slut himself out to you for some pats. He's a tart like that.

[identity profile] shantari.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
*pats him* *runs away giggling*

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. He doth purr!

Amen. I have two dogs, two cats, two strays, plus all of the other family pets. It's amazing how much better life is just because they happen to be a part of it.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
It's the little moments, too. The tiny details. Like the particular way their fur lies. Or thier funny little habits peculiar to them. *nods*

[identity profile] kellygreen.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, cats > men anyway. He's precious. :D

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Totally, man. And thank you. I think he's pretty special myself. :)

[identity profile] chocojester.livejournal.com 2006-02-13 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
*grins widely* :D

It's great to see you love your cat dearly (I find nothing wrong at all with it, but certainly had me fooled for a moment then :))

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
Eppes bros! *snuggles with them and makes a Nacey sandwich*

Hehehe. I do love my kitty.

WHAT THE FUCK?

*hugs* Love you, sweetie!

I knew that a man like that could only be a kitty! He's gorgeous!

My Frodo is going to be my Valentine company, too

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Hehehe, absolutely. The best kind of man there is! Hahahaha.

Awww. What a gorgeous name for a kitty!!

[personal profile] fyrdrakken 2006-02-14 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, last week I pointed out to Mom that if Dizzy'd had a toe removed on one of his front paws rather than a back one, we'd have had to start calling him Frodo. (Though we've already had two dogs named Frodo, another named Bilbo, and a cat named Galadriel.)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Frodo the seven fingered? LOL!

[identity profile] berenicepotter.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA I knew it -_- XDDDDDDDDDD

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! You would know!!

[identity profile] esicardi.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Your cat is so cute!
:)
I love cats so much!
But, what happened with the boy you had met some weeks ago?

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Erm... he wasn't quite what I thought he was. I learnt enough about him to know that I don't want to get entangled with him. It'll only hurt me in the end. He said himself that he never wants anything serious, and right now? I want The One. I want babies and love and happiness. I'm 27 this year. I want to be with the love of my life a few years before we start having kids. He just - doesn't fit. And doesn't make me feel special.

[identity profile] esicardi.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I understand. It doesn't matter, I'm sure the One is somewhere waiting for someone like you as well.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
I surely hope so. :)

[identity profile] windtear.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
::nods sagely:: It could only be him.

Men come and go, but cats are there for you no matter what.

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-14 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Damned straight. I was watching Cold Case last night. This guy chasing Lily wanted her to take down her hair. At the end, the wrap-up montage? She takes out her hair - and gets into bed with her kitties (one missing an eye and the other missing a leg). And she cuddles her kitties. That made me grin cause she's so cool a character.

A girl and her cat - a powerful pairing! LOL!

[personal profile] fyrdrakken 2006-02-14 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, figured out by the second paragraph in it was a cat. Which I totally understand, since the guy in the posting icon looks fair to have that kind of relationship with me if he just lasts... (FIV+, it turns out, which means I've got some extra concerns regarding his health.)

[identity profile] logansrogue.livejournal.com 2006-02-15 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* I couldn't imagine how that would be, finding out your furbaby had that. I hope you have lots of good years together. *hug*

I haven't talked to the vet about it yet -- he'd already gone home for the day when I came to pick Dizzy up from his surgery, but I imagine we'll do that when I bring Dizzy in to have his stitches out Saturday morning. But the pamplet I was sent home with noted that an FIV+ cat can be asymptomatic for ten years -- and that's getting towards a reasonable lifetime for a cat, since he's already two and a half.
