Twitter finds a noble purpose.

http://twitter.com/StopAhmadi

This is the twitter of Raymond Jahan, an Iranian live-twittering the fight being put up by protesters over the sham of the recent election. Follow the twitter and let these brave Iranian people know that the world cares about their struggle.

ETA: People can show solidarity with the Iranian protesters by wearing green tomorrow. It's all over twitter. Also, tinting your user icon green is helpful too. I might just make myself an icon to use when I'm blogging/journaling about Iran.

Bravery in Tehran.

These people are more than risking their lives by marching like this. There is certain death ahead for many who protest.

They are shouting: "Death to the Dictator" and "I will fight! I will fight! I will take back my vote!" I'm certainly behind the latter cry. And while I don't condone any sort of killing, I know that for these people, it's a very dark situation. It is probably their only way to freedom.

I keep posting about this because I know that the coup is trying to surpress this sort of information. They don't want the world to know what's going on. People are dying for their freedom as we speak. Police are charging universities and dorm rooms, capturing students, shooting them or taking them away and making them "disappear". Men, women and children are being beaten to death in the street. It's for them I keep talking about this and it's for them I do my bit to carry on the information.

In between posts, I'll keep praying to God that this has a good outcome. I hope these deaths are not for nothing. I hope these people get the freedom they demand.

I'm a glutton for punishment.

And pastries. My brother brought home a bag of cheap croissants. Oh, I tried one. They tasted good. So I ate one. In all its gluteny goodness.

I am in for a painful night tonight. Morning tomorrow. Fuck it. I started my period today, there's no saving me. Pain and bloating is par for the course.

It's moments like this I'm glad I have a talent.

I just drew a picture of one of the protesting students in Iran and put it up on Twitpic, saying that it was for the Iranian people, free to use, free to distribute. I got this message back from Stop_Ahmadi:

it gives strength to us. appreciate your hard work, love.

Oh God, I want to cry. These amazing people!
